Summary

This is a PvE/PvP survival horror board game, inspired by the works of H.P. Lovecraft. A failed summoning ritual consumes a portion of the city, pulling the minds of its inhabitants into an alternate dimension. In these planes of madness, the players only have one valuable commodity: their own sanity. Sanity acts as the health of the players, but is also consumed by casting spells and buying items. Combat the monsters of the realms, as well as the other players as you compete to be the one and only person who may pass through the portal back home. The rest are consumed by madness and descend into psychosis.

My Contribution

I created and balanced all of the items and spells, and developed the combat mechanics. As the one to develop all the weapons and armor, I also had to define the rules for storing and equipping items, and using them throughout play. I worked closely with the developers of the other cards to balance them agains one another, and to create interesting synergies between specific card combinations.

Moving Forward

I would love to see this game published. This is certainly the most thoroughly developed project that I've worked on. The rules are fun and functional, there is plenty of content which is well balanced and interesting, and the aesthetic is well defined. The only thing this game needs is artwork and finalized physical assets. The playtests have been very positive and seem to indicate that this game would sell if it hit the shelves. I hope that I may return to it some day.
