I'm Joey Kapusta - a 21 year-old game developer and lover of all facets of gaming. I've just wrapped up my last year as a Game Design and Development honors student at Rochester Institute of Technology, and am now on the hunt for work. I’ve been a fan of video gaming all of my life, and chose this line of study out of passion.

My life has been somewhat nomadic thus far, being compelled to move back and forth across the country every few years. I've been the new guy more times than I can count, learning the flexibility to adapt and keep an eye open to new experiences. Throughout these adventures, gaming has been my one constant companion, providing an escape for when the world moves a bit too fast. It’s my greatest source of enjoyment, and a conduit for the grandest of fantasies. It’s the craft I’ve come to love.

The same could be said for mankind as a whole. From the trials of the Colosseum, to the board games of sailors venturing to the New World, to the advent of virtual reality, gaming has always been our great release. Play and escapism, it seems, is a universal need. It is to this ancient art that I am constantly drawn.

Heady stuff aside, I have found my niche in the development and programming of gameplay. I've worked in C++, C#, JavaScript, Unreal, Unity, and good old analog. The mechanics of a game (and the experience that develops around it) is what compels me. I always try to add something interesting to my creations. Whether it’s a twist to an existing convention, or a novel concept, there is always room for exploration and innovation.

My goal is to contribute something back to the long tradition of gaming, with the hope of giving a player the same spark of engagement that has lead me to this point.
