Summary
This project was a group exercise in 3D modelling, texturing, and set dressing. We all contributed textured models that we combined into a thematic scene. All models had to be created from scratch, including mapping UVs, baking in ambient occlusion, and creating textures and bump maps. The scene then had to be dressed, lit, and animations added. We made animating traps and a large, rolling stone door.
My Contribution
I made the main temple structure, including assets for stone walls and stairs. I also made the stone door and the spears for the traps.
Moving Forward
I gained an appreciation of the complexity of the asset pipeline, and learned that I am no artist. I am much better with code. That said, the scene wasn't bad. Dressing the set with all of the assets and effects really brought it togehter. I have much more respect for those who do this consistently.
